ChaoDependant investigates the use of technology to explore invisibly structured spaces, in particular the attraction and repulsion of magnetic fields. It is based around a magnetic pendulum, and a collection of reactive pods, which contain magnets, sensors and lights. The magnets in the pods influence the motion of the pendulum so it becomes gently chaotic, while the pods react to the pendulum by lighting up and triggering a dynamic, evolving soundscape. ChaoDependant is an cross disciplinary artwork that brings together in a mesmerising interactive manner design, craft and technology.
